Six Burnout Risks for the Healthcare HR Professional

Tuesday, July 12, 2022  |  1:00 p.m. CT (2:00 p.m. ET)

A recent survey, which was shared in multiple news outlets, showed that 98% of HR has experienced burnout. From navigating vaccination requirements and fluctuating policies to recruiting talent during historic resignations, HR has been in the hot seat for nearly two years. And, given the largely compassionate and service-oriented nature of the HR professional, we often put the needs of others above our own.

In this webinar, we will cover the definitions and causes of burnout by pulling from the psychological literature on stress and emotional exhaustion, as well as insights from post-pandemic analyses. We will follow this with a deep-dive on the unique pressures HR teams experience that correlate to burnout risk. From there, we will review some of the best tips for preventing burnout for HR professionals using the latest in resilience research, neuroscience and cognitive behavior theory. In combination, understanding the causes, symptoms and proven preventative measures HR coworkers can take will help participants identify tools, resources, tactics and strategies for navigating a challenging and complex future.

Objectives

  1. Understand what burnout is.
  2. Hear specific causes of burnout in HR.
  3. Discuss approaches for addressing burnout.
