Kelsie McClendon, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is the Director of Human Resources for Donor Network of Arizona, the state’s designated Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) responsible for facilitating organ donation for transplants. He is responsible for HR, Organizational Training & Development, Safety and Corporate Compliance functions and co-leading the Workforce Excellence strategic goal group. Kelsie enjoys driving solutions that drive Donor Network of Arizona’s Mission, “to make the most of life through the gifts of organ and tissue donation” through strategy, processes, and people. Under his leadership, Donor Network of Arizona has been recognized as a Top Company to work for in Arizona for three consecutive years and is regularly recognized for its wellness and other talent management related programs.
Kelsie’s background includes over 25 years of Human Resources Management experience including with providers of pre-hospital non-emergency and emergency care, healthcare transportation, environmental services for healthcare facilities, and a variety of other diverse industries. Kelsie earned a Master’s Degrees in Labor and Human Resources Management from The Ohio State University, a Master’s in Educational Technology from & BS in Business Management from Arizona State University, and holds senior HR certifications from HRCI and SHRM. An avid volunteer leader, he is a Past President for the SHRM-Greater Phoenix Chapter, past Board Chair for the Maricopa County (AZ) Workforce Development Board, past Strategic Planning Officer for the Arizona Society for Human Resources Management, and currently serves on the AOPO Leadership Development Committee and ASHHRA Education Committee. Kelsie’s favorite role of all is as dad to six-year-old Jack and enjoys mutual adventures hiking, visiting family/friends, checking out local & national parks, sports, and a variety of other fun times.
Nicole Russ

Nicole Russ has been the Vice President of Human Resources at the Aultman Health Foundation since November 2020. In her current role, she advises colleagues and managers in Aultman’s hospitals, physician practices, and insurance company on all types of Human Resources matters. Prior to her current role, Nicole was the head of Human Resources at Alliance Community Hospital for 9 years and assisted in the hospital’s integration into the Aultman Health Foundation.
Before her thirteen years with the Aultman Health Foundation and (Aultman) Alliance Community Hospital, Nicole was Director of Human Resources in a long-term care corporation for 8 years. In addition to 20 years of experience in Healthcare Human Resources Management, she has earned and maintained several Human Resources certifications, including Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Society of Human Resources Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Nicole earned her MBA, Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources, and Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Studies – Health Care Administration from Kent State University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
Nicole is a current board member and past President of the Ohio Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administrators (OSHHRA) and the chair of the 2025 Annual Conference Education Committee (ACEC) for the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA). Locally, Nicole serves as a board member for CommQuest, Stark State College Foundation, and Kent State University’s College of Public Health External Advisory Committee. Nicole lives in North Canton with her husband, David, who is a second-grade teacher at Clearmount Elementary, and their daughter, Madison.

Mike Garrett is Vice-President of Human Resources for American HealthCare, LLC. in Roanoke, Virginia. Mike joined AHC in March 2016. Mike has over 30 years of experience with people in various stages of the HR function from working at Virginia Transformer Corporation in Roanoke, Virginia to Rowe Furniture in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Elliston, Virginia.
Mike’s skills include employee relations, on-site concierge services, project management and human resources management. He has served as a panel expert at business gatherings for organizations from the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services to the Greater Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce.
Mike’s goal has been and continues to be helping people be the best they can be, so they can use their energy to support the company mission, whether it be upholstering sofas, assembling transformers or providing excellent care to residents at an American HealthCare managed nursing facility. Away from the traditional workplace, Mike has obtained an understanding of folks from all walks of life through delivering singing telegrams, performing in musical groups and dressing up as Santa Claus for Christmas.
