Workforce and HR Benchmarking
ASHHRA, in collaboration with PwC Saratoga, offers the HR Metrics Tool annually to enable ASHHRA members to benefit from PwC’s expertise in HR analytics and knowledge of the healthcare field and to obtain relevant benchmarks for workforce and HR metrics. See metrics list.

Participation
Participation consists of data submission in the HR Metrics Tool benchmarking survey. Each participant will receive a personalized report that compares their organization’s results against those of other participants. In addition to comparing against all ASHHRA participating organizations, participants can also benchmark based on:
- Single vs. multi-facility system
- Headcount size
- Teaching
- Region
Hospital Consortium
Participation in the ASHHRA / PwC Saratoga HR Metrics tool is focused on 31 metrics. It is a great option if you are starting out with benchmarking and/or if these metrics meet your needs. You will be able to see a wide array of benchmarks by size, region and facility type for these 31 metrics.
Participation in the PwC Saratoga Hospital Consortium includes:
- ASHHRA HR Metrics Tool results
- Access to PwC Saratoga Hospital Database (includes over 600 metrics)
- Access to Saratoga’s Human Capital Effectiveness Report represented by over 300 companies across 12 industries

The ASHHRA / PwC Saratoga HR Metrics Tool Survey opens in January. To participate, you will have to submit data from the previous calendar year. Please find below timelines for the 2021 HR Metrics Tool

The pricing structure has been simplified based on client feedback. It is based on the headcount of your organization.

Results will be released to participants in July 2022. If you are not already signed up for the HR Metrics Tool, please click here to register.
Your PwC Saratoga point of contact will confirm your registration and share your organization’s customized site login information. You will submit your data via that site, and instructions will be provided for the data entry process. You can also submit your data using our new Automated HRIS Workflows option. Through our HRIS Workflows, PwC can calculate your results using de-identified employee data exported directly from your HRIS solution, saving your team significant time. Your PwC Saratoga point of contact will be available to answer any of your questions and assist you with the data submissions.
If you have signed up to submit for more than one facility, PwC Saratoga will provide you with the information necessary to enter data for each.
Your designated PwC Saratoga point of contact will be your go to person for any survey questions. Emailing questions will be the most efficient and a response is returned within 24 hours.
Though you are not required to submit data for all 31 metrics, we require enough data elements to calculate 12 of the 31 metrics. We highly recommend you to provide data for as many metrics as possible.
