Work-Based Learning Programs
Elevate, by Dallas College with ASHHRA

Enhance your career pathways in some of healthcare’s most challenging support roles through Elevate competency-driven, work-based learning programs.

ASHHRA and Dallas College have teamed up with healthcare systems and sites to onboard, train, and retain employees through comprehensive, employer-driven work-based learning programs in five core areas:

  • Medical Assistant (Clinical or Administrative) (CCMA, CMAA)
  • Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST)
  • Medical Billing & Coding (CBCS)
  • Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Culinary (CFC, CC, CSC)

Developed by Dallas College in collaboration with ASHHRA and national expert practitioners in each occupation, the programs are recognized by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and lead to industry‑recognized credentials.

How it works

Recruit, upskill or reskill employees through structured on‑the‑job skills practice, guided by your own trained preceptors. Participants also complete online, asynchronous coursework, and can receive credit for prior learning so they can focus on skills and competencies needed for success and certification. This approach supports faster entry into sustainable careers while earning a full‑time salary. Dallas College supports you throughout the program with onboarding, exam management, and preceptor training.

Benefits to health systems include:

  • Individuals are not only trained, but certified and demonstrate competence
  • Imparts rigor and consistency to training – structured skill demonstration is measured against industry recognized standards
  • Turnkey program you can plug-and-play or customize
  • Bolstered recruitment for internal or external candidates
  • Reduced turnover, increased engagement, and loyalty
  • Increased productivity through clear role expectations and demonstrated competence
  • Competent staff deliver better, faster patient service, outcomes and throughput
  • Substantial ROI as increased efficiency impacts revenue
