Healthcare Labor Update, Summer 2024: Understanding the Factors Fueling Increased Healthcare Organizing and How Healthcare Leaders Should Respond

Tuesday, July 9, 2024  |  1:00 p.m. CT (2:00 p.m. ET)

In 2024, hospitals and health systems continue to face serious workforce challenges, including high turnover, high vacancy rates, staffing challenges and surging labor costs. Unfortunately, as we reach mid-year, healthcare employers face another workforce challenge – surging union organizing targeting nurses, advanced practice providers, physicians (including residents and fellows) and other healthcare employees.

In fact, union organizing targeting healthcare employees has increased significantly in 2024 over organizing levels in 2023. With continued support from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), union organizing targeting healthcare workers will likely continue to surge even higher.

Attend our mid-year webinar to learn the latest developments regarding healthcare union organizing and the tactics unions are leveraging as they take advantage of the challenges facing hospitals and health systems.
