Known for its innovative care models, Georgia’s WellStar Health System decided it was time to walk the talk about health when it came to its own employees. Seventy percent of its 20,000-plus team members are overweight or obese, which is unfortunately all-too-typical of health care workers nationwide.

Well aware that extra pounds mean extra health concerns and higher health care costs, a year ago WellStar launched the Center for Best Health (CBH), an onsite medical center aimed at improving individual health and wellness. CBH is part of Health 365, WellStar’s comprehensive wellness program offering employees multiple avenues for getting and staying healthy.
